COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio – Harrison was able to hand Northwest its first loss of the season, 28-13 at Knight Stadium on Friday.

Harrison quarterback Jake Weber topped off a run-heavy drive with a 1-yard run up the middle, giving the Wildcats a 7-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

“We’re not always going to be the biggest or the fastest team, but I can guarantee you we’ll be the toughest.”

The second quarter began with another big drive by Harrison. Weber and running back Justin Conners led the charge with their strong running attack. Weber would run for another touchdown from 10 yards out to give the Wildcats a 14-point lead.

Northwest attempted a fake punt from its own 30 yard line on the ensuing drive, but the Wildcats made the stop.

That set up great field position for Harrison. The Wildcats were stopped their first three downs, but prevailed on a big fourth down conversion with a 34-yard touchdown catch by senior Justin Conners, lifting Harrison to a 21-0 lead at the break.

The Knights gained some momentum with several first downs, which led to a 44-yard touchdown catch by receiver DeVohn Jackson and trailed, 21-6 after a missed extra point.

Northwest continued having success on offense as senior captain Corey Roberson threw his second straight to DeVohn Jackson from five yards out to cut the lead to eight, 21-13.

The Northwest defense made a couple of big stops, but couldn’t shut down the high-powered offensive combination of Conners and Weber. The late down conversions helped the Wildcats run the clock late.

Weber ultimately ran in his third touchdown for the night with five minutes left iced the game.

Northwest fumbled on the second play of what turned out to be its last drive helped seal it.
