Tippecanoe 42, Kenton Ridge 7

For the second time in three weeks Tippecanoe (11-0) dominated Kenton Ridge (7-4) as the Red Devils won their third playoff game in school history and remained unbeaten. The Division II, Region 10 battle between two CBC Kenton rivals was anything but close.

Tippecanoe jumped out to a 21-0 halftime lead behind a pair of touchdown passes Zack Blair, one to Cameron Johnson and the other Sean Ford. Johnson opened the scoring with a 23-yard run in the first quarter.

Things did not get any better for the Cougars after intermission. Ford was at it again with 50-yard touchdown run. Teammate Jacob Hall followed that up with his 32nd touchdown of the season on a 23-yard run. Jarrett Wasson would cap off 21 more unanswered points by the Red Devils as he pulled in a 28-yard touchdown pass from Ben Hughes.

As good as the Tippecanoe offense has been this season the defense has shown to be their equal. Kenton Ridge became the eighth Red Devils’ victim to score seven points or fewer. No one has scored more than a touchdown on Tipp the last four games.

The top-seed Tippecanoe gets the unenviable task of trying to stop #5 Thurgood Marshall (7-3), who put up 76 points in their first round playoff win over previously unbeaten Western Brown. The game site for next Friday’s tilt will be announced on Sunday.
