Young QBs Pace GWOC North

By Greg Shoemaker | Featured Analyst

All six teams in the GWOC North start quarterback who are either sophomores or juniors. Not one squad has a senior starting as their signal-caller.

Juniors Messiah DeWeaver at Trotwood-Madison and Clay Guillozet are in their third season as starters for their ballclubs. DeWeaver an early commit to Michigan has already started in two state championship games. The next touchdown passes he throws will be his 40th with the Rams. Guillozet started 2014 with personal bests of 238 yards and three touchdowns rushing as the Green Wave lost to Eaton in their opener.

Chandler Craine is just 44 yards short of 2,000 passing for his career heading into the fourth season of his junior campaign at Butler. Craine also has 17 touchdown passes for the Aviators.
Sophomores Jack Feazel in Sidney, Hayden Kotwica of Troy and Piqua junior Rupert Delacruz all seem to be making a smooth transition to the varsity level in their firs seasons under center.
