Trotwood-Madison 27, Butler 6

An early 6-0 Butler lead was short-lived as just 20 seconds later Trotwood-Madison scored the first of its 27 unanswered points to end the game. The win gave the Rams their seventh consecutive GWOC North title.

It was a 66-yard pass from Messiah DeWeaver to Ryan Lucas that got the victors started. Trotwood-Madison will head into the playoffs as winners of their last six contests. The Rams will be on a quest for a fifth consecutive regional championship.

DeWeaver and Lucas hooked up late in the fourth quarter for another six points. It was the 18th touchdown pass by DeWeaver who only completed four passes on the night. Lucas caught three of those balls for 99 yards from the junior quarterback. The senior has nine touchdowns receptions on the season.

Despite the loss Butler running back Michael Hutchinson ran for 104 yards. That pushed the Aviators senior over 1,000 at 1,044 for the season. The inability to converted third and fourth downs going 3-17 on those plays along with three turnovers doomed Butler.

Trotwood-Madison (9-1, 5-0) will in all likelihood take on Western Brown (9-1) in the first round of the Division III, Region 10 playoffs. The official pairings will be posted by the OHSAA on Sunday.
