By Clayton Castle |

Wapakoneta proved why it is the top seed in the Division III, Region 10 playoffs after a 28-7 defeat of Tippecanoe on Friday night at Sidney High School.

The Redskins began the game with a 67-yard drive that took 8:01, culminating in a 15-yard touchdown run by Adam Henderson.

Tippecanoe responded with 54 seconds left in the half with a one-yard run by Austin Clark, sending the halftime score tied at seven.

But Wapakoneta came out firing in the second half with 21 unanswered points.

Cameron Lauck scored the first touchdown of the second half on a 19-yard run to give the Redskins a lead that they would not lose.

A Lauck interception return for a touchdown to put the Redskins up 21-7, and on Wapakoneta's next possession, Keaton Metz took the ball 79 yards for the final Redskins touchdown of the night.

Wapakoneta (12-0) will take on Trotwood-Madison (11-1) next Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at a site TBA.
